CONJUNCTIONS/CONJUCIONES: Y/E and O/U
Y/E
I’m sure you already know that Y means “and”. Maybe you’ve noticed that sometimes, instead of Y, you find E; for instance: voy a casa e intento descansar (“I go home and I try to rest”). Probably you’ve already understood that we should use E instead of Y when the following word begins with –i. Of course this change only has phonetical reasons.
O/U
The same thing happens with O and U. We have to write U instead of O before the words which begin with –o. Example: ¿Quieres pescado u otra cosa? (“Do you want fish or another thing?”).

IRREGULAR VERBS OF THIS LESSON: HACER (“TO DO”) AND VERBS WHICH HAVE ONLY ONE IRREGULARITY

As you can easily notice, the only irregular part of the conjugation is “yo hago”; then it’s conjugated as usual. It’s the same thing with the following verbs (the most important ones):
– SALIR (TO GO OUT), yo salgo
– PONER (TO PUT), yo pongo
– DAR (TO GIVE), yo doy
– SABER (TO KNOW), yo sé
– CAER (TO FALL), yo caigo
and –ZC Verbs:
– CONDUCIR (TO DRIVE), yo conduzco
– PRODUCIR (TO PRODUCE), yo produzco
– TRADUCIR (TO TRANSLATE), yo traduzco
– PARECER (TO LOOK LIKE), yo parezco

SPANISH LAUNCH AND DINNER
Spanish people have launch at 3 pm and dinner at 10 pm. They love to eat outside their home; it’s very easy to find little places where you can eat very well at a low price: tapas, for instance, are very popular; they’re like “food sample” but if you eat two of them generally you’re ok. The most famous Spanish foods are paella and tortilla.
